Knight Printing and Graphics

I work for an amazing company known as, Knight Printing and Graphics. They are in the 12% bracket of the world when it comes to the print shop side of the business. I was brought in nearly 4 years ago into their bindery room - knowing nothing - but eager to learn, and did. Bindery, is a fast but repetitive task. It really wasn't what I was looking for. I'm a on my feet, figure things out, try new things type of gal. I asked the GM if I could be placed in their new sign shop down the road from the print shop. He agreed to try me out & now they just see me as one of the guys. These 5 men that make up this sign shop are now my brothers. I'm the only girl in this particular shop, and like to think I keep these gentleman in line :) Its truly a work family and I couldn't be happier working here.

Hanging with my dear friends and co-workers at the, Blessing of the Fleet (when the shrimp boats leave for their tours).

And sometimes we take work home with us...

And sometimes yoyo helps :)

We come together Thanksgiving and Christmas as an entire shop. This is Thanksgiving of 2014. First celebration in the new sign shop! Its so interesting to see so many different personalities and talents come together in a not work environment :) Never a dull moment with this crew.

Another Thanksgiving at the print shop

Sometimes with our drop pieces we get a little creative (on breaks of course;)

On the print side one of my responsibilities was to make the plates for the pressman. So interesting... just amazing.

One of my new responsibilities is running this beast of a printer. The Durst 800.

Certified!

Being the only girl - the guys like to play little pranks on me to get a rise. Well, they succeeded on this morning. The shop is in a rather bad part of town. I'm normally the first one there & its still pitch black out side and in the shop until you flip on the lights. Well, the Wizard of Oz, cast greeted me one early morning. I screamed and threw my coffee thermos. Then laughed hysterically.

And sometimes we just need to improvise

I was privileged to bring in my BFF for a short period. It was great working with her. We ate like queens... still do...
